Doha Metro getting ready to restart its services. Thermal scanners have been installed at all metro stations to check the health of passengers. Officials have announced that public transport, including the Doha Metro, will resume on September 1, the fourth and final phase of the relaxation of the COVID-19 restrictions.
Qatar Railways has taken precautionary and preventive measures to ensure the health and safety of passengers. Thermal scanners are installed at the entrances to the stations. 300 hand sanitizers have been installed at passenger crossings to ensure safe travel, also given special training to all Metro employees on precautionary measures.
Although not currently operational, all stations and trains are regularly disinfected. It also runs through the metro track at regular intervals without passengers to keep the machines working. Launched on May 8, 2019, the Doha Metro has a mileage of 1.7 crore passengers on May 8 last year. Metro service has been suspended since March 12.
