Qatar prepares to build its own power-generating luxury eco-friendly floating hotel. The hotel will be powered by wind and solar panels. This was revealed by Hayari Atak, a Turkish architectural design studio.
The Eco-Floating Hotel will have 152 rooms with state-of-the-art facilities. However, Hayari Atak did not disclose where the floating hotel would be built in the Qatari seas. Guests can reach the hotel by car, boat or helicopter. Each room has a spacious balcony. Large lobby, swimming pools, gym, spa, mini golf course, exercise and recreation facilities.
Vertical Axis Wind Turbine and Umbrella (VAWTAU) feature in the energy-efficient design of a circular floating hotel with 24-hour rotating system. Each of the 55 VWTAU modules has the capacity to generate 25 kilowatts of power.
Vortex design roof system to collect rainwater and use it for irrigation without green energy facilities. The hotel will have eco-friendly facilities such as a waste segregation unit to convert food waste into compost for landscaping.
Construction is expected to be completed by 2025. Qatar, meanwhile, is building 16 floating hotels on the Qetaifan Island on the sidelines of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
