The 49th Amir Cup, the most important regional football match in the country, will be played on May 14 at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. The Qatar Football Association has announced that the final will be played at the home ground of defending champions Al Sadd.
The semifinals will be held on May 3 from 4.00 pm at the Jasim Bin Hamad and Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadiums. The semi-final fight is between Al Rayyan and Al Duhail and between Al Sadd and Al Arabi. Authorities urge spectators to take the Covid vaccine to enjoy the competition safely.
Information on ticket sales and health protocol will be announced later. In the last final, only 50% of the spectators were allowed entry due to Covid restrictions. Priority was given to Covid survivors and health workers. It is hoped that more people will be admitted this time. The final of the 48th Amir Cup kicked off on December 18, Qatar’s National Day last year. Al Sadd won the Amir Cup for the 17th time, defeating Al Arabi.
